Invermere On The Lake is the largest town in the Columbia Valley with 3000-4000 permanent residents. Invermere is the shopping centre and economic hub of the Columbia Valley. Invermere’s pedestrian friendly downtown district has a relaxed atmosphere with trendy, funky, boutiques and fine restaurants, cafes, pubs, galleries, gift and specialty shops, grocery stores, pharmacies, bookstore, deli and bakery. Invermere has quickly become the vacation town of choice for many residents of BC and Alberta. Invermere’s unique setting, between the Rocky Mountains to the east and the Purcell Mountains to the west and along the shoreline of Lake Windermere allow it’s guests an endless opportunity for outdoor adventure. Lake Windermere is a strong draw to the area in the summer with water temperatures reaching near 21C. Vacationers take advantage of waterski, wakeboard, windsurf, stand up paddleboard or just relax on one of Invermere’s two beaches.
